Machining 101: The Mill
- Time & Place
You've always wanted to make something out of metal, and now you can! This class will be taught by Will Bradley, an amateur machinist who has worked closely with past instructors Corey, Mason, and Chris to develop class materials and training standards.
You'll leave with hands-on experience machining steel and aluminum with our "big" blue mill. Fundamental milling operations, planning/squaring, and safe/proper machining techniques will be covered. Stay after your hands-on portion for Q&A.
Please read the Metalworking & Mill guide on the wiki beforehand so you arrive prepared: http://wiki.heatsynclabs.org/wiki/Rules#Metalworking_Tools -- closed shoes, short sleeves, and no dangly jewelry/hair are mandatory!
