Police Officer and Firefighter Heroes! Mingle with
Smyrna’s fire and police heroes, local businesses
and residents, city officials, and Honorary Chair, Smyrna Mayor A. Max Bacon, as
we gather to celebrate and honor our police officer and firefighter heroes at
the 3rd Annual Smyrna Heroes Gala on Saturday, September 8, 2012, beginning
at 7:00 p.m. at historic Brawner Hall in Smyrna. Eat delicious food,
and sip on wine, beer, and fun-themed specialty cocktails. Bid on live and silent auction goods and
services from area businesses including exotic trips and weekend getaways; fine
and decorative art; health, beauty, and fitness services; theatre tickets; golf
outings and lessons; restaurant gift cards; home décor accessories; and many
other exciting items. Dance to the
fabulous entertainment of Wesley Cook, one of 4 finalists in Rolling Stone’s “Street to Stage”
competition, and the larger-than-life Kingsized, Atlanta’s premier Las-Vegas style party
band. Proceeds from the
Smyrna Heroes Gala benefit the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation (SPSF), which
supports Smyrna’s Fire and Police Departments. So put on your festive attire and dancing
shoes and come to the Gala prepared to have fun and thank our heroes. Cheers! Smyrna Heroes Gala Committee What is the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation (SPSF)? The SPSF is a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization established between the Smyrna Public Safety
agencies and local community businesses to provide support both in the community
and in the professional endeavors of the Fire Department, the Police Department,
and other Public Safety Agencies in Smyrna. The SPSF is
dedicated to improving the quality of life for those who live, work, and play in
Smyrna and
surrounding communities and to generate growth in those communities. To those ends, the SPSF raises revenue to
fund its missions, which include, among others, promoting and supporting the
Smyrna Fire and Police Departments; ensuring each police officer and firefighter
is qualified, trained, equipped, and educated to perform at the highest levels
of professional standards; identifying and addressing public safety concerns of
the community; providing financial assistance to public safety employees, or
their families, injured or killed in the line of duty. The SPSF also funds public safety
improvements; community safety and outreach programs; the popular annual holiday
“Shop with a Hero” for area disadvantaged children; and other much-needed and
