Event Information

THINK is a one day theology conference, aimed at encouraging theological reflection amongst leaders and thinkers. We take one important topic, we invite one guest speaker who knows the issue inside out, and then we spend the day exploring it, through a combination of plenary sessions, panel discussions, small group interaction and Q&A.

This year, we will be asking the question, "Is Calvinism Incoherent?" Many today might describe themselves as generally "Calvinist" or "Reformed", but continue to have questions about Calvinism as a whole. We will explore these questions together, including:

- Is Calvinism consistent?

- Why are so many people Calvinist in exegesis, but Arminian in apologetics? Does it matter?

- Is "five point Calvinism" biblical?

- Does God ordain all things, including evil human choices? If so, what happens to theodicy?

- Do the Scriptures teach double predestination? So what?

- Does God change his mind?

We are really excited to have Mike Ovey, Principal of Oak Hill College and author of Pierced for our Transgressions, as our guest speaker for the day. To make our time as helpful as possible, numbers will be limited to one hundred delegates, so early booking is advisable. The cost per delegate will be £20.

The conference will be hosted at New Community Church in South East London, and will run from 9:30 to 4:00. You will have to provide your own lunch.

We look forward to seeing you there!
