Table to Palate, a company that brings wine, people and food together, for a fun interactive experience, is pleased to pair Wine Writer Michael Pinkus (OntarioWineReview.com) with Schott Zwiesel stemware, About Thyme Bistro and 4 of Ontario's Premier wineries (Creekside, Nyarai, Rosewood and Henry of Pelham) for an interactive evening of food, wine and fun … best of all you walk away with the very glasses you drank from (because we think you’ll want to use them every day). Tonight, you’ll taste great food and wine, and find out how these two staples of life compliment each other, as well as discover how glassware can make all the difference on how you experience your wine.
Co-hosting the evening along with Michael will be Lloyd Thistle of Fortessa Canada as well as principals from the wineries.
Please note: The four foods being paired with the wines are Amuse Bouche size portions. Also, we will be getting a special peek at the first 10 year Traditional Method sparkling wine in Canada (Creekside 2000 'X')
Michael Pinkus is an award wining wine writer who is the head writer and Grape Guy behind OntarioWineReview.com; he is also the President of the Wine Writers’ Circle of Canada. In 2009 Michael placed 4th in the Tasting Challenge held in Toronto, against 250 other amateur and professional winos, and has been awarded the Promoting the Promoters Media Award at Cuvee 2010. It is Michael’s desire to educate, inspire and encourage others to grow their own love and enthusiasm for wine in a fun and light-hearted way, taking the mystique out of the wine experience – Michael’s philosophy is that is it your palate that ultimately makes the decision.
Schott Zwiesel stemware is the manufacturer of Tritan Technology – a crystal that uses a titanium oxide instead of lead thus strengthening the surface making it resistant to scratching and dishwasher corrosion. Schott Zwiesel stemware has a breakage rate that is dramatically lower than traditional crystal glasses with the same durability and clarity … “this is not your grandma’s crystal, it’s not your mama’s crystal either, this stuff has to be experienced to be believed.” (Michael Pinkus)
Table to Palate is a company that was formed on the premise that what’s on the table is more than just mere food on plates and wine in glasses; what’s in front of you should be experienced, savoured and most of all, enjoyed. We bring food, wine and people together for a fun interactive experience that they can take home and use in their everyday lives.
