Event Information

The Voice Project Fall Benefit is the charity's inaugural New York City event. DJ sets by DJ KRISPY from BLACK TAXI, JALEEL BUNTON from TV ON THE RADIO and TED GUSHUE, live episodes being taped with PARTS AND LABOR and JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN for the cover chains on voiceproject.org as well as an open bar. Please join us on Monday, November 15th from 7pm-10pm as we raise money for this amazing cause.

Supporter $45: The online ticket price for the event is $45, $60 at the door. We'll be filming episodes for The Voice Project like this one we did in LA.

Episode Producer $500: For $500 you'll not just be part of the party, you'll be credited as a producer for the episodes we shoot that night. Yes, the immortal stature ("yes, I'm a producer") and personal Google search results improvements are hard to put a price tag on...but we did. We'll sing your praises over at The Voice Project Web site as we post these videos and in the permanent credits for them.

Voice Project Sponsor $2,500: In addition to the above producer credits, we'd like to acknowledge and honor you at the event and on the Website for such generosity. This will truly enable us to move forward with some new initiatives for the organization and make a huge difference in the lives of some amazing people on the ground in Uganda.

Voice Project Benefactor $5,000: Ok, we know there are only so many folks out their in today's economic climate who can contemplate this amount, but if it's a possibility for you we'd like to really give you a very special thanks. In addition to all of the above benefits from the lesser priced tickets, we'd like to name one of the programs in Uganda you'll be funding after you or the person of your choosing. We will discuss with you which kind of program: Vocational, Educational/Scholarship, Farm, Child Soldier Rehabilitation, or one of our other initiatives. Also, this kind of generosity will have such a large and sustainable effect on the ground with the efforts we are supporting that we'd like to bring you back a video message from the Acholi people, something that we hope you and your family can treasure for generations.

The Voice Project is a song-driven effort inspired by the women of Uganda who are using their voices and songs as vehicles for change in the war-ravaged region of Northern Uganda, Southern Sudan, Eastern Congo and CAR which for the last 24 years has been marred by terrible atrocities and ongoing violence. The Voice Project supports these incredible women and the peace movement in the region, and an effort to see how far a voice can carry.

In what Rolling Stone has described as a "game of musical tag" raising awareness and support for the war-torn region of Central East Africa, The Voice Project is recording musicians all over the world, filming them as they cover songs by fellow artists who they then pass the torch to, creating a chain of melodies and stories, from Indie rockers to African Hip Hop and R&B artists. Through their efforts The Voice Project supports programs in region that provide viable and sustainable economic opportunities for these women, former child soldiers and their communities. The trademark of our program philosophy is a respectful willingness to acknowledge and work with local innovation, expertise and capabilities through true partnership and mutually determined program design, objectives and implementation. As with the music, we believe in listening.
