Boulder area yogis are kicking off their shoes for a weekly yoga and live music gathering “YOGA ROCKS THE PARK!” every Sunday, 2 p.m. Aug. 8 – Sep. 19 at Boulder’s Central Park South with September dates at Scott Carpenter Park. The Boulder event is announced following the great success of the Denver-based event, which attracts 100-plus yogis each week to Denver’s City Park. The Boulder Yoga Rocks the Park will feature Colorado’s most inspiring yoga instructors from top yoga studios, a new and improved children’s program presented by “Octopus Arts Children’s Yoga,” and great live music by Boulder’s most beloved acoustic live musicians.
Boulder’s incredible 2010 includes Anusara Yoga’s Madhuri Martin, Om Time Yoga owner Shannon Paige Schneider, Boulder’s beloved Jeanie Manchester and Samadhi Yoga’s lead teacher training instructor Karen Lerner.
Each week includes an hour and a half long yoga workshop accompanied by live music from talented area musicians including Waking Alchemy, African drummer Koffi Toudji, Damon the Zen Drummer and many more. “Yoga Rocks the Park!” is an all levels yoga event perfect for those just starting out up to instructor-level. Hula hooping, free giveaways and drum circles also grace the festival-esque line-up.
Yoga Rocks the Park! guarantees kids will have just as much fun as their parents do practicing the ancient art of yoga with its new and improved 2010 children’s program. Geared for kids 3 – 10 years old the fun and interactive program is lead by Octopus Arts Children’s Yoga.
Yoga Rocks the Park! donates a percentage of profits to Colorado-based, non-profits Yoga World Reach which offers yoga and alternative therapy programs to those in need both locally and around the globe. The cost for adults is $10 children in the Camp Yoga Rocks program are also $10.
