Your Responsibilities Under the New Bill 168—Preventing Workplace Violence and Harassment
Is your organization compliant with Bill 168? Did you know that all workplaces in Ontario
(including nonprofits) are now required to have policies and programs in place
to reduce incidents of workplace violence and harassments? Unsure where
to
begin? Need more information? ONN is here to help you!
Bill 168, new legislation in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, just came into effect on June 15, 2010 and it requires that workplaces in Ontario develop new policies and programs that will reduce violence and harassment. Employers must also conduct risk assessments of the workplace and provide education and training on workplace violence and prevention. Compliance with this new legislation is required.
The Ontario Nonprofit Network (ONN) has invited
Amanda Hudson, a certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) working with the HR Council, to help you get
informed on how your organization may implement effective and appropriate
policies and practices to ensure that you’re in compliance. Amanda will share useful resources and tools and can answer any questions you have on Bill 168.
