It's back!
Canadian Livers in Training symposium, 2010 edition. Hosted by SXSW dignitaries Jay Goldman (@jaygoldman) and Lee Dale (@smack416).
Once again, GenYTO!
As you know, much of the success of last year's event was being able to introduce the GenYTO cru to the SXSW veterans. Once again we'll be joining forces with GenYTO to bring the best and brightest minds of all ages together for this liver training event.
Our gracious host
This year we are ever so pleased to be hosting at the elevator free Fair Trade Jewelry Co thanks to the generosity of Ryan Taylor (@ryantaylor).
The entertainment
As with last year, there will be music a plenty, from the tag teaming People Downtown duo of Abdul Smooth and Nathan Lee (@nathan416). This ain't no slumber party (as opposed to last year). Be prepared to shake what your momma gave you.
Drinks are on you!
Of course, we'll be greatly encouraging the BYOB extravaganza that took hold last year and, with no elevator shenanigans everyone we'll be completely focused on socializing right away.

For SXSW!
Now, last year, we had the greatest flasks ever made as a takeaway for all the SXSW attendees. These were a huge hit with the Austin crowd and all the Canadians we ran into down there, but there was one thing we all agreed: they were too damn small. So, this year, we'll be sporting a suitably sized stainless steel "water" bottle for our drinking team needs.
Here's what your 2010 CanLIT SXSW takeaway looks like!
And each bottle purchase comes with a ticket to the event.
For Your Home!
We're also hoping you'll be excited to take home some CanLIT glasses to impress your house party guests and help you train year round. With that in mind, we have two new CanLIT items:
1.5 oz shot glasses
16 oz pilsner glasses
Here's what these hot pieces of glass look like!
You can purchase multiples of these to round out your home glass wear, but please note that we need to reach a minimum volume of 72 before we place an order. In other words, if it doesn't work out, we'll be issuing refunds for these.
The rub.
Water bottles will be available at the party, but we won't be ordering glasses until after the party (like, April) and will need to determine a pickup location. Make sure you okay with this before you order glassware. Merci.
For water bottles, we're also happy to bring some to SXSW for out-of-towners but Lee won't be able to fit 25 in his suitcase like last time so we'll be monitoring this closely.
Ticket pricing.
No free tickets this year because we want to be able to afford background checks on anyone who's visiting Ryan's store. Safety first!
Also, all proceeds will go to party favours or supporting a good cause that does not include Jay and Lee's performance fees.
For real? No free tickets?
It takes dollars to throw a free party. Last year Jay and I paid to rent sound equipment, to stock up on munchies, for buttons and for extra booze. This year there's a recession, so we need your help.
One final note: as we confirm sizes, the final artwork for the glasses and bottle may change.
Invite your friends
Introducing responsible dance party drink party friends to Canadian Livers in Training is always welcome. Feel free to invite people through the Facebook event.
And, once again, follow the @CanLITyeah tweet stream for the latest details.
Peace.
